Winnow is worked from bottom up with the wheat-berries "growing" from bottom to top on different levels. Fronts and back are divided at the underarms and finished separately. Each sleeve is worked separately from the bottom up. Body and sleeves use the Italian cast on method. After the shoulders are sewn together, the sleeves are sewn into the armholes. Finally, stitches are picked up to create an edging along the fronts and neck, and this cardigan does not contain instructions for buttonholes.
